Every so often it snows in our part of North Carolina. I think it averages about once every couple of years, so when we were blessed with a snowstorm a couple of weeks ago, the kids and I were so excited! At first the snow was too powdery to pack into a snowball, but as the day progressed the temperature rose and created perfectly packable snow. Yes! I think I was more excited than the kids...they would come and go in and out of the house that day, but I had decided to make some giant snowpeople (the goal was to make them so big it would take a long time for them to melt) and so I stayed out there for several hours playing with the kids and working on our snowpeople. Eliza was a great helper, and we were able to coax Steve outside for just a bit to help me push the super heavy middle snowball of Sir Snowman up the makeshift ramp (a long board) and into place. As you can see, we were running out of steam (and snow) for Princess Snowlady so she was much more petite than her prince charming.
The kids were thrilled with our royal snowpeople - it was so fun to watch and hear them squeal (okay, so Hazel was the only one squealing) with delight when they were finished. Alas, the rains came the next night and washed our frozen friends away, but at least we have the memories - and the pictures - of our fun day in the snow.
I think you have gotten more snow that we have gotten here in Stafford :) The snow people are AWESOME!!!
