I spent this morning making a little quilt for Hazel's baby doll from various scraps I'd been hanging onto. Because I can't bear to throw beautiful fabric away, no matter how small the piece. And I now have a project to use them in!
Hazel doesn't read my blog so I think it's probably safe to post this the day before Christmas. She had been using 2 thick red paper napkins to wrap her doll in, so I figured it's time for an upgrade. I'm so glad I kept these tiny fabric remnants!
In some cases this is the absolute last bit of fabric from all the clothes and bags I have made with these colors. How fitting that they are used together in a quilt for Hazel's baby doll, and how perfect that they are all PINK! It just so happens that pink is Hazel's favorite color on earth. You know those pink-packaged food items at the grocery store that are to raise awareness for breast cancer? She tries to put them all in the cart. Every single time.
Can't wait to see her expression when she opens up her present tomorrow!
ps The fabric for this quilt came from many of my favorite designers: Joel Dewberry, Heather Bailey, Amy Butler, Michael Miller, Patty Young. Most of you will recognize them, but just in case I thought I'd let you know!
Speaking of presents, here are some fully-lined drawstring bags filled with goodies for some of my nieces and nephews. I thought I could crank them out, assembly line style, in an hour or two. Well....it took a little (a lot) longer than that but at least they're merrily on their way now. Sorry for the lousy photo - I was in a hurry to get them mailed off and just wanted to document their existence before boxing them up.
I also boxed up the new bag I made for my Mom, who hopefully is not reading this before her package arrives! If the package didn't make it yet, Mom, oops! Then this really is a sneak peek. Hope you like it!
Fabric is from Joel Dewberry (floral) and Michael Miller (polka dots).
Okay, one last peek...I have a new project on the docket, one that is going to take at least a year to complete. I've been taking lots of photos for it, but I can't post everything because it would spoil the fun. Need another hint? Welllllll, it starts with a "b" and ends with a "k". There. Not another word!
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!
So excited for you and the "b--k" ! Let me know if you need pattern testers! I can't wait to see the finished project.

I posted pics of the things I made for Christmas gifts, many of which came from inspiration from YOU and your blog, if you'd like to peek. Thanks so much for getting me back into sewing!
