Valentine's Day is for the birds. Especially these little lovebirds. I know you've seen them before, but they're making their appearance again for Heart Day.
They have a friend this year. I've been so busy with other things (including, among others, the removal of all traces of Christmas...still working on that...) that I haven't had a chance to make the things I'm planning on making for Valentine's Day. The birds will have to do for now.
I painted the wooden "quilt" a couple of years ago.
Some of you will recognize this wreath that I posted last year. I took little wooden hearts that you can buy at a craft store and painted the tiny designs on them. Then I used hot glue and affixed them to a grapevine wreath along with a bit of ivy.
I used a toothpick dipped in paint to make the little dots.
My heart is in your hand...har har!
I'm branching out on the color scheme here...aqua and red, black, and white is so very fun.
Here's the Valentine's version of my Wall o' Plates...and no, I didn't paint a singe one! Some of them you will recognize from previous holidays, the others I have Ross and HomeGoods to thank for. I told you I'm slacking in the handmade category lately! I do have a really good reason, though...I've been slaving away at the computer trying to cram enough Adobe Illustrator in my brain to bring to fruition the fabric designs I have been planning for the past 2 years. It's such a powerful program, and I burned out about halfway through the 500 page manual...but I've been able to figure out enough to get all but 2 of my more complicated designs all digitized and colorized, so I'm on the tail end of things. Hooray for that! It's been an unbelievable amount of work to do this in addition to all the other things going on right now, and since I really don't jive with computers that well it's been a struggle. It will be worth it when I'm all done though. This is something I REALLY want to do and my desire to accomplish it hasn't waned with time, so I know it's something I need to stick with until completion. Wish me luck!
Love the color scheme you have going on. And the heart in the hand is absolutely adorable.
