Since we're going to be at a family reunion for Steve's family over 4th of July weekend (we leave tomorrow morning, and I still haven't packed yet!) we won't be here to host a big Independence Day sheebang. I wanted to post SOMETHING for the 4th of July, though, so I plopped one of Eliza's new hair bows (see tutorial for it in my sidebar) onto my festive assortment of plates for a quick red-white-and-blue affair.
Hyrum came inside from playing in our wading pool and flopped down for a spontaneous photo or two.
That pose looks totally staged, but I promise it isn't! His staged poses are much more canned, I assure you.
I grabbed some appropriately patterned things from around the house to have something patriotically colored to photograph...not quite the typical stars and stripes, but hey - it works!
I don't know how much posting I'll be able to do while we're on the road for the next few weeks...so if I don't come up with anything new for awhile - hang tight, I'll have lots and lots to share with you when I return!
Now I really, really must go finish the mountain of laundry (the bane of my existence) I've been doing for the past two days so I can pack for our triple-state adventure.
I hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July, and may we never forget the people who have sacrificed so much to ensure that we are free to pursue our American Dreams. May we always remember that freedom has a price, and may we understand that with freedom comes the responsibility to use it in a way that will not destroy that right for future generations. God bless the USA!
