Some days are just messy. Take yesterday, for example: on top of all the mess from playdates (every toy in our house was strewn across practically every square foot of our house...okay, not really but it was close!), the chocolate cupcake crumbs from lots of little fingers and mouths, the spilled drinks, the piles of laundry, the potty-training misses, the drippy noses, the syrup from this morning's pancakes, etc etc, Hazel had the biggest blow-out of her life.
I suppose it was a fortunate thing that she was in her crib when IT happened, but man, what a mess. I learned what a bunch of rice and bread plus a bottle of prune juice and some grapes does to a baby who is sick. I usually give her a little bottle of diluted prune juice because Hazel very easily gets constipated, but in combination with all the other factors it had disastrous results. Don't worry, I won't go into details (and this is one post where you don't WANT to see any photos!) but suffice it to say that she had her by-product smeared all over every slat in the crib, on most of her toys in her crib, and of course all over herself.
It took about an hour to get everything cleaned up and sanitized, all the while my other kids and their friends were wreaking havoc in other parts of my house...ah, the memories! Nothing like a potty mess to add a little, um, spice in your life. Who says being a stay-at-home mom is boring?
