Like I mentioned before, we've had a lot of Steve's family come and visit this past month. The cousins have had a blast playing together. Pictured here are my kids plus Steve's sister's two kids. Every time they are all together people comment on how much they look alike, and I definitely agree. Steve and his sister look a lot alike, and their genes appear to be the dominant ones. Aren't they cute? The airplane blankie they're snuggled under is one that I just made for Kenny (far right) because he LOVES planes. He had originally requested camouflage shorts and vest, but when I went to Walmart they were out of camo fabric. I came home with this fabric instead and we decided not to ruin all the cool planes by cutting it up so it became a blankie.
Marion (holding Hazel) and I had a fun time making a drawstring bag, a skirt, a sundress, and bows to match while she was here. She was a great little helper with Hazel and a real sweetie. Unfortunately I don't have any pics of her things, maybe she can send me a photo of herself in her new duds later.
I've been doing a lot of sewing lately, and here are some close-ups of some things I've been making for my girls. The blue and red flowered fabric is something I bought while in Japan, isn't it sweet? I especially love it when paired with the stripes.
I made a little sundress for Hazel and a coordinating skirt for Eliza, but I've been having a hard time getting them both to be available and cooperative at the same time for an official photoshoot. Until then, here's a sneak peek. I am in love with fabric covered buttons. They're so incredibly easy to do and the results are fantastic.
This is also fabric that I bought while in Japan. I just love all the adorable little characters on it, and it has a wonderful linen-textured weave that adds a lot of charm. No wonder Japanese fabric is so popular right now, it's absolutely wonderful.
Your niece and nephew are lucky to have an aunt that is so willing to make them stuff!!
