Remember the adaptations to the $5 black and white polka dot dress? I bought a pink and white dress the same day, and finally found time to embellish it with fabric from Joel Dewberry's aviary collection. I took off the original bow thingy at the waist, made my own giant yo-yo (from a strip of fabric gathered on one side and attached the ends together to create the circle...I didn't want to make a "real" yo-yo because it would have taken a huge chunk out of my fabric), added some ribbon, and reattached the embroidered flower.
Don't ask me why Eliza insisted on wearing the long sleeve Tshirt...she loves to dress warmly even in hot weather. Even when she was 2 or 3 she'd want to wear fleece pants and sweaters in 85 degree weather. Crazy kid. :-)
Here's a preview of the upcoming bow tutorial I'm working on. I have the photos ready to go, just need to do the instruction part. Easier said than done, as my 3 year old has discovered the wonders of PBSkids.com and competes with me for computer time. Maybe I'll be able to work on it after he goes to bed.
